PC TimeCop: Remote Management You will first need to enable Remote Management in the Options, under Extras | Remote Monitoring. Management is done through your web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, or any
web browser). To connect, simply point the browser to the IP address of that machine. For example, one of your local machine's addresses might be: http://127.0.0.1 http://localhost http://192.168.0.1 http://192.168.1.1
If you want to connect to another computer, simply put their IP address in the URL field. If you select a non-standard port (other than 80), you connect by appending ":<portnum>" to the end of the URL. For example, to connect to the local computer on port 8080, try: http://127.0.0.1:8080 If you want to connect to your computer over the internet, you will need to know its
IP address. You can use services such as dyndns.org and dhs.org to create a "name" for your computer that will automatically be updated, such as "http://mycomputer.homeip.net". If you have a firewall on your computer, or a router that connects you to the internet, you may need to "open up" the port you have the remote management web server
running on. Please read your firewall or router's manual for information on how to do this. |
